Abstract

Cows are one of the animals that have a significant contribution to Indonesia. Demand for milk and meat produced from dairy farmers and slaughterers is increasing every year. However, this increase was not matched by the ability of domestic cattle farmers to meet their milk and meat needs. At this time the national milk and meat needs must be imported. Due to the low ability of domestic farmers to meet the needs of milk and meat which can be caused by many things. One of them is a disease that infects cattle. The cattle ranchers have low knowledge about various types of cow diseases along with the symptoms of the disease. This causes them to farm cattle cattle experts or veterinarians. But livestock experts, cattle or veterinarians are limited in number especially in rural areas. In this study, the author tries to analyze the subject matter and the results are intended to provide advice and knowledge about the symptoms and diseases of cattle for farmers in raising productivity of meat and milk sourced from cows, to meet the needs of beef and milk in Indonesia. and minimize costs incurred by farmers to treat livestock that have contracted the disease.
