Abstract

Apples are a type of fruit, or fruit produced from apple trees. Usually reddish in color when it ripens and is ready to eat. But it can also be reddish green, yellow and green. The rind is rather soft, the flesh is quite hard and has several seeds in it. Apples are popular because of their sweet taste and some are slightly acidic sweetness that is characteristic of the taste of apples. This taste is usually determined by the maturity of the apple itself. Usually apple farmers determine the death of apples with age from the blooming flower which is around 4 months. But sometimes even though it is 4 months old there are some unripe apples and after being picked the taste of apples becomes very sour. Therefore, through the design and manufacture of Apple Maturity Detection System is expected to make apples to be harvested at the correct time. This system will use the K - Nearest Neighbor method to classify mature and immature apples. The Apple Maturity Detection System will make it easier for apple farmers to see whether the apples they are harvesting are ripe or not. So that there will no longer be any apples that are still ripe. Keywords: Identification, Apples, K - Nearest Neighbor
