Abstract
The objectives of this study are to analysis of code mixing occur in ”99 Cahaya di Langit Eropa (part 2)” movie. The researcher focuses the object of research at the types of code mixing in the movie, the probable reason of using code mixing and the dominant language in “99 Cahaya di Langit Eropa (part 2)” movie. In this study uses descriptive method. To conduct the data, the researcher did qualitative research, collected data from movie by writing the transcripts based on the conversation in the movie. The reasearcher finds four of variation of code mixing. The researcher only focuses in the categorize of code mixing. After collecting the data, the researcher classified the data based on the types of code mixing by Arifin’s theory and reason why the code mixing are used. From “99 Cahaya di Langit Eropa (part 2)” movie, the data that the researcher get are the code mixing form of word insertion (33), the code mixing form of phrase insertion (17), the code mixing form of idiom insertion (3), and the code mixing form of clause insertion (27). The probable reasons of using code mixing are English is needed in entertainment field, English is used to influence the listener, English is as an alternative language, English is the common language for society, English helps people to convey message effectively and the dominant language that used in the movie is Indonesian.
