Abstract

Landslide was one of the disasters that often occurred and their spread was relatively evenly distributed in almost all regions in Indonesia. The impact of landslides was very large and even caused casualties. Therefore, an effort was needed regarding the mapping of landslide areas and their evacuation routes to minimize the losses. This research took the case of study area in Kulon Progo district. Kulon Progo is a district in the province of D.I. Yogyakarta. Based on its geographical location, Kulon Progo has relatively unstable land and prone to the dangers of land movements, for the example is landslides. The purpose of this research was to find out and map locations that were potentially prone to landslides in Kulon Progo. This research produced a Landslide mapping using GIS and evacuation routes in Kulon Progo district. Hopefully this research can help communities and agencies related to disasters to be able to find out areas having low and high vulnerabilities, especially of landslides. In addition, people in the research area can know earlier about the dangers of landslides that can happen to them at times, especially people who live in landslide-prone areas.
