Abstract

Highway is a facility that is used as a means of transportation especially to facilitate the vehicles running. There are several rules at the highway that must be obeyed by road users, one example, they must drive their vehicles with maximum weight limit of vehicles on the road, especially the vehicles which have four or more wheels, for each highway has a different weight strength. Weighbridges are a set of tools for traffic’s surveillance and security used to weigh fixed vehicles or trucks to know the passing vehicles and large loads weight. So far, the Weighbridge surveillance System is still done manually. The weak supervision makes the officers in charge do an illegal levy to pass the vehicle that is overloaded, so it gradually causes road damage and some accidents happen. Building a Prototype of the Weighbridge in this case mechanical and information system of Weighbridge, has the aim to know the weighing process on weighbridges and heavy surveillance systems of vehicles. Online supervision or monitoring can reduce the fraud done on the weighbridge as it can detect the right weight of vehicles then the weighing runs more effectively. Based on the results of literacy and observation study related to weighbridge monitoring, the monitoring system can read data through the sensors attached to the weighbridge system. The Weighbridge monitoring system uses the NodeMCU ESP8266 microcontroller to process sensor data. The weight Sensor is used to read the weighing process. Data that is read by the system can be viewed via the internet on the thinger.io platform by entering a user ID and password. The Open-Close Automatic Door works based on the carrying capasity of each vehicle. The door will open when the vehicle’s weight is declared OK, and the green indicator lights. On the contrary, the door will close when the vehicle is overloaded, the red and yellow indicator light. Keywords: Weighbridges, heavy sensors, NodeMCU
