Abstract

The development of the motor vehicle industry is currently increasing the number of their production each year, with offset the increasing consumer demand. The impact of the increased growth in the number of motor vehicles is congestion due to the imbalance between road area and vehicle volume. Traffic light is a lamp that is used to regulate the smooth flow of traffic at an intersection by giving road users the opportunity to go in turn from each direction in turn. By looking at the case at a traffic light crossroad in the northern ringroad area of Yogyakarta, where when it is time to go home or go to work or there is a patwal or an ambulance (in an emergency), the police are still having trouble managing the traffic. The solution offered in this study is by designing an Internet-based Cross of Thing light control system using the NodeMCU ESP8266 device. Is one of the application of this problem-solving tool, which has a traffic light control function that can be controlled by the police in the control room. By utilizing the features on the website, the police easily adjust which traffic lights should be green, so that the driver can understand the conditions. Internet of things used in this research is website hosting designed through sublime text 3 and using the MCU Node 8266 microcontroller to manage the emergency traffic light system programmed using Arduino IDE software. The results of this study are to help the Indonesian police to arrange crossroads where there is an emergency to keep going, the BangJo Smart Pos web is the solution where arrangements can be made anywhere without obstruction of distance. WiFi is the link between NodeMCU ESP8266 and the Smart Pos BangJo website. Keywords: internet of thing, website, microcontroller, emergency traffic light
