Abstract

Electrical energy is now a major need in daily activities and industrial activities. This happens because electrical energy is relatively easy to distribute and convert into other forms of energy. PT PLN (Persero) as the main party responsible for electrical energy needs with regard to efficiency in the production process. To get maximum efficiency, PT PLN (Persero) must be able to reduce the value of losses or losses - power losses to a minimum, both shrinkage of technical and non-technical power. The author examines the effect of load imbalance and power loss on 3 phase distribution transformers. The transformers used are KBL 05 079 B001, KBL 05 080 U008 B001 and KBL 05 060, the three transformers are connected from the Kalibakal Purwokerto substation which is channeled to SUTR (Low Voltage Air Line). To suppress the value of power losses or power losses in neutral currents, the writer uses the method of load balancing on the three distribution transformers. With the results of the average loading percentage of 18.33%, the percentage of load imbalance 18.21% and the average value of loading of 35.60 kVA. By pressing the neutral current value on the three transformers and load balancing, the value of power losses at neutral current can be reduced from 3720.5 Watt to 2,098 Watt. Keywords: Power losses, Load balancing, Distribution transformer
