Abstract

Forest fire are common disasters occuring annually in Riau province. Record From the past 19 years revealed that Riau Has become one of the provinces which are prone toyhis calamity. The occurence of forest fires certainly impose a negative impact on the people who live within area of forest fire. We also realize that the smoke may also reach the neighbor countries, such as Malaysia and Singapore.This study creates a prototype of an Internet of things based forest fire detector for fire prevention. It has sensors, mq2 as smoke detection sensors, flame detector as fire detection sensors, dht11 as temperature and air humidity detectors. As a warning in the forest, researchers put 3 warnings on these devices. Fire is detected when sensors detect smoke and fire, fire id indicated when the temperature in the forest is high and the air humidity is low, and fire are undetectable if condition are normal in the forest. The warning is in the form of a sound from the buzzer.With the utilization of internet of things (IOT), the data received from the mq2, flame detector, dht11 will be sent to the MCU node and then the data is shown on LCD and web server. Therefore, this tool shows a hope to solve forest fire. Keyword : Fire, Forest, Internet of things, MCU node
