Abstract

The scheduling of work shifts for members of the police force is influential in the productivity of the process of implementing community services. The problem is how to arrange schedules according to the criteria and minimize the schedule conflicts that often occur when the preparation is done conventionally. One of the steps taken is to build a scheduling system for police officers using genetic algorithms. The use of genetic algorithms is intended to arrange the scheduling results naturally by the system through several iterations of calculations so that it can assist the police in arranging work shift schedules for police officers effectively and appropriately. By using the Genetic Algorithm, the results obtained in the first test with an initial value of mutation rate of 0.3 and the limit of generation 1000 resulted in the highest fitness value of 665 with a 89.38% fitness level in the generation of 10000 and above. While testing with an initial mutation rate of 0.5 and 5000 generation limits produces the highest fitness value of 660 with a conformity level of 87.37% in the 500000 generation and above. In this study the system was built on a web-based programming language PHP (Pear Hypertext Prepocessor) and MySQL as a DBMS. Keywords: System, Scheduling, Genetic Algorithm, Shift, Website
