Abstract
Jambi City is the capital of Jambi Province and is one of the 10 regencies / cities in Jambi Province. Historically, Jambi City Government was formed with the Decree of the Governor of Sumatra No.103 / 1946 as the Big City Autonomous Region in Sumatra, then strengthened by Law No.9 / 1956 and declared the Big City Autonomous Region within the Central Sumatra Province. Location-based service system, or better known as Location Based Service (LBS) is a service offered through mobile phones taking into account the geographical location of the device. Because LBS is very dependent on the location of the mobile user, the main purpose of the service provider system is to determine where the user is. An LBS can show users to restaurants, gas stations, hospitals and nearby attractions. Using LBS will make it easier for tourists to determine tourist destinations in the city of Jambi. By utilizing GPS technology, this LBS system can be used to determine position based on the geographical point of the user's location and the intended location. Keywords: Jambi Tourism, Location Based Service, GPS.
