Currently smartphones do not only function as a voice communication or messaging device. Along with the times, smartphones have provided Global Positioning System (GPS) devices developed in the handset. Smartphone users whose handsets already support GPS can find out their current position and search for certain places using this technology. Location Based Services (LBS) utilize GPS technology in its application. In addition to knowing the user's position, the LBS application can also determine the position of certain places. If the user can maximize this technology, he does not need to be afraid of getting lost or losing direction when traveling to an area that is still unfamiliar to him. Yogyakarta is one of the areas and mainstay of the tourist sector that has many tourist attractions as well as tourists / migrants. The purpose of this project is to produce a mobile application that can help local residents to find the location of hotels, tourist and culinary places that will be targeted using an Android-based GPS. This writer uses the Android operating system for the installation of the application. The application is integrated with the GoogleMap API service that can be used to provide more detailed information to tourists or local and foreign visitors about hotels, tourist attractions and culinary spots and to display route directions to the destination. Keywords: GPS (Global Positoning System), Application Search, Hotels, Tourist Places, Culinary.
