Abstract

Augmented reality is a term to combine the real world environment with the virtual world. Building design activities are not easy and fast activities. Many communities, especially building project workers, still find it difficult to determine the design of buildings especially if the finished design can be displayed to the client in real time. In this case, the building designer still uses conventional methods or by way of guessing whether the building will be built according to the desired model or not if it is displayed in realtime. So in this era of modernization, people are required to carry out an activity effectively and efficiently. Therefore, the problem that arises when someone becomes a building designer besides being required to work effectively and efficiently, he must also be able to make the client satisfied with the results of his design, then it is necessary to build a mobile based Augmented Reality (android) system that is effective and efficient in designing buildings housing or office that can be displayed in realtime to the client. In conducting this research, the making of the system will be built using the waterfall design method and strategic qualitative research with design and creation methods. This application runs on Android-based smartphones. This method is used as a reference for the process by which the system will process input data. The development of this application uses the Vuforia Library and Unity by utilizing Augmented Reality. The results of this study are the generation of an Android-based mobile platform application, so that this application can be used flexibly, easily, and can display the design of buildings by building designers and clients who want to see the design results in realtime that will be built more effectively and efficiently.
