The era of information technology is advancing rapidly and cannot be separated from multimedia. Images in multimedia play an important role in conveying information. We can get information from a particular object using only images, for example we are able to recognize someone. In plain view we can immediately know the person, but it is different if we do the person's face recognition by using a computing machine. Before recognizing, we need to detect faces first. But apparently to be able to detect faces in an image is not as easy as we think. Many scientists conduct research and compete to create a solution so that the process of detecting faces using a computing machine takes place quickly and easily. One of the studies that has been recognized as the fastest and most accurate method for detecting faces is the Viola-Jones method. This study discusses the creation of a face detection system using the Viola-Jones method. The results of this study are the system which can detect faces well against image data measuring 60 x 60 with an accuracy rate of 80.55%. Keywords: Face, Detection, Viola-Jones Algorithm
