Abstract
Yogyakarta, especially the city of Sleman has a large area and a big number of motor vehicles. In this case, human transportation becomes very efficient and fast. However, if the vehicle experiences technical problems, either its engine components or tires on the way, the driver must stop. Especially with the ignorance of the driver about the location of the workshop and the tire patch closest to the location of the driver. All become considerable obstacles. Nowadays, smart phones are popular in helping users find the nearest garage and patch, such as by using GPS and mobile browsers that support Geo Location. These two features allow a system to know the coordinates of smartphone users through a mobile web. Based on the mentioned problems, it is proposed to create a tire patch and workshop search system. This system determines the location of the workshop and the tire patch closest to the driver's position by calculating the distance from the two coordinate points and displaying it on Google maps. The system may also display the route to the nearest garage or tire patch from the driver. The results of this study is an Android-based search application for tire patches and workshop using GPS geolocation that can detect the coordinates of smartphone users and display the distances, road routes, and location updates.
