Abstract
The title of this study is "An Analysis of Prefix un- Found in The Vampire – Diaries – Nightfall by L.J Smith. "This study had two objectives, those were: (1) knowing the prefix un- categories (2) knowing the prefix un- types that have been analyzed by the writer in the novel The Vampire Diaries – Nightfall by L.J Smith. This study used qualitative method because the data obtained by the writer was by reading the novel, underlining each word with the prefix un-, and putting it into a list in the form of a table, which the steps are qualitative methods. The results of the study conducted by the author showed that there were 74 data with prefix un-. The research and analysis conducted by the author showed that there were 7 categories of prefix un- and 7 types of prefix un-. Key words: prefix un-, category, type, novel.
