Abstract
The final paper analyzed fear expression in Carrie movie. Fear was a primary emotion in every aspect of human expression. The main purpose of this study was to find out the fear expressions in Carrie movie and to find out the most dominant type of fear expression in Carrie movie. There were two problems analyzed in this study, first was the fear expressions in Carrie movie and second was the most dominant type of fear expression in Carrie movie. The writer analyzed fear expression by using Parrot’s (2001) theory. The writer used qualitative descriptive method. The writer used three ways to analyze data which were shifting data by note taking the utterance that contained fear expression, classifying, and coding. The analysis results showed, from the question number one, that the writer found two types of fear expression: horror which defined as fear (16%), panic (12%), shock (9%), horror (7%), fright (5%), hysteria (5%) and nervousness which defines as worry (19%), dread (14%), distress (5%), nervousness (5%), anxiety (2%), and the last was tenseness (2%). From the question number two, the writer found that the most dominant type of fear expression was worry of about 19%. Key words : Basic emotion, Fear Expression
