Abstract
One part of the Palace that is visited by local tourists is the Agung Gedhe Kauman Keraton mosque. The objectives of this study are: 1) to find out the reasons for tourists visiting the Agung Gedhe Kauman Keraton mosque; 2) and to find out the appeal of the Great Gedhe Kauman Keraton Keraton mosque. The research method used was descriptive qualitative observations at the Agung Gedhe Kauman Keraton mosque conducted in October to early November 2018. Interviews were conducted with guest speakers and 20 tourists. Literature review was a source of theory and documentation as accurate evidence. From the results, the study concluded: 1) reasons for tourists coming to the Great Mosque of Gedhe Kauman Palace were for prayer, recitation, and study; 2) the appeal of the mosque building was that the charm of the Kauman Gedhe Mosque lies in several uniqueness, one of which is the installation of white river stone on the mosque wall using no cement and other adhesive elements, as well as the use of whole teak wood which had over 200 years old as a passenger of the mosque building.
