Abstract

This paper analyzes the financial performance of banks in Indonesia as a result of the global financial crisis. Financial statement analysis can help businesses, government and other financial statement users in assessing the financial condition of a company is no exception banking company. In a study based on the performance criteria proposed by Infobank Research Bureau. The criteria used by Infobank Research Bureau covering capital, productive assets, profitability, liquidity and efficiency. This study used a sample of 83 banking company from year 2004 to 2009 consisted of 13 banking companies go public and 70 non-banking companies go public. Statistical analysis showed that Ho1 which states that there is no difference CAR before and after the global financial crisis can not be rejected with a p-value equal to 0.352> 0.05. The Ho2 states that there is no difference NPL before and after the global financial crisis was rejected by the p-value of 0.019. The Ho3 states that there is no difference ROE before and after the global financial crisis, can not be rejected by the p-value of 0.1. The Ho4 states that there is no difference LDR before and after the global financial crisis. The analysis shows that the value of significance (p-value) of 0.002 <0.05, the fourth hypothesis Ho4 rejected. Furthermore, for Ho5 states that there is no difference NIM before and after the global financial crisis. The analysis shows that the value of significance (p-value) of 0.019 <0.05, then Ho5 rejected. Key words: crisis, performance, banking, ratio.
