Abstract
The growth in electricity demand needs to be balanced with an increase in the capability of electricity infrastructure. The distribution of electrical energy should meet standards. A reliable protection system is needed to improve the reliability of the quality of distribution and service of electrical energy to consumers. In the distribution network system, there are still disturbances that hamper the distribution of electrical energy. Therefore, it needs a protective device to reduce or prevent interference from spreading. One of the protective equipment used was overcurrent relay. An incorrect setting of the relay caused the PMT to break the circuit incorrectly. Therefore, a protection coordination system was needed to reduce interference in order to maintain proper system reliability. The simulation was conducted by using the star device protection feature in ETAP 12.6.0 by providing 2 phase fault currents to the ground and 1 phase to the ground just above the load. The results of resetting relays with improved working time obtained a relay which is 0.281 seconds and an incoming relay that is 0.483 seconds.
