Abstract
Security is very important in society. The increasing population makes an empty area filled with housing. If one house experiences an electrical short circuit and causes a fire, the fire will easily spread to other houses. To avoid this, fire detectors are needed in order to minimize the impact of losses suffered by homeowners. In this study, an Internet-of-Things (IoT)-based fire detection tool is designed to take precautionary measures in the event of a fire and send a notification through the android application when fire and smoke are detected as well as monitors surround temperature when fire and smoke are detected. This system uses the MQ-2 sensor to detect gas and smoke, the DHT11 temperature sensor to detect the temperature in the room, the KY-026 fire sensor to detect fire, and the android application that can monitor the situation in the room in real time and can control the buzzer when there is a fire. All components are controlled using WeMos D1. The Internet of Things (IoT)-based fire detection tool is expected to be an alternative home security system.
