Abstract

The development of technology is very rapid at this time, many things that were previously done manually may be replaced by an automatic way to simplify and save time. No exception in the case of vacuum cleaner. In this research a simple vacuum cleaner robot prototype will be controlled by an android application by adding additional features such as a rotary encoder sensor as a speed meter, a vacuum cleaner, an Arduino-based microcontroller, a Bluetooth HC-05 module and an accelerometer sensor found on a smartphone. Control of this system is done wirelessly using Bluetooth as a data transfer media, where the forward and backward control and turn of the robot are controlled by the accelerometer sensor on the android application on the smartphone, while to reduce the error rate or error at the robot's rate using the PID control method. The results of this study obtained some data from the movement rate of the robot such as the robot's forward motion becomes more stable. The maximum distance between smartphone and robot is within a radius of 10 meters. Keywords: Robot, accelerometer, smartphone, vacuum cleaner, PID.
