Abstract
The tourism sector is one of the biggest income sources of a country, particularly in Indonesia. It also cannot be separated from the large number of visitors or foreign tourists who come to Indonesia. Utilization of technology in supporting the tourism sector is needed, so that, tourists can easily access information about tourist attractions such as in the province of South Sumatra, especially in Lubuklinggau city. The Lubuklinggau city has many interesting tourist sites, but unfortunately many tourists still do not know about it. This is due to the lack of information about tourism in the Lubuk city. The purpose of designing a web-based information system is to facilitate developer to build a web-based tourism application in Lubuklinggau city, which will make it easier for tourists to get information about tourist attractions and visit tourist attractions with complete information and increase tourist interest to travel or visit Lubuklinggau city. Therefore, the design of this information system is intended as a means of introducing tourism in the Lubuklinggau city. The research method used is by collecting data through literature studies, interviews, and observations. The result of the design, in the form of a web-based tourism information system, is expected to be able to become a media that can promote tourism in the Lubuklinggau city, then with this web-based application design, it is expected to have a similar design process to produce a design that is better and more complete than the existing design.
