Abstract
At the beginning of its appearance, the ability of mobile phones was limited to the function of sending short messages and phone calls. But nowadays mobile phones have evolved to become smartphones whose capabilities are almost equal to those of computers. Today's smartphones also have operating systems such as computers and one of the most popular operating systems today is Android. The influence of smartphones has also penetrated into various aspects of human life, one of which is finding a place by using a smartphone. Smartphone with the Android operating system is now widely used by the people of Indonesia. This is evidenced by data from Wawai Marketing that at the end of 2015 users in Indonesia reached 41 million. This is because Android smartphones have various features, one of which is GPS and online maps that are utilized by the location search application. Many Indonesian people will take advantage of this place search application. A place search application that can display a list of places around the user will be needed when traveling to the areas they have never visited before. The map design that is displayed in this system uses the Google Maps API. Detailed museum information data in this system uses data from the Google Place API. The programming language that will be used in this system is Java. Then this application will be implemented on a mobile device-based platform that runs on smartphones with the Android operating system.
