Abstract
The purpose of this study is to design a smart home building with the concept of the Internet of Thing (IoT) using a smartphone. Smart home that is designed to be able to control and monitor electrical equipment at home whether it is already on or off after being activated via mobile media using the internet network. To build this smart home, hardware and software are needed. Hardware is used as a media interface between a computer (arduino) with controlled electrical equipment while the software is used to enable hardware and communication between arduino and a smartphone. This tool is also designed to work controlled through the Blynk App from an Android smartphone wirelessly. Henceforth each of the software is loaded into Arduino and smartphones. The method used in this study is the application with a demonstration. From the results of tests conducted by the system, the smartphone designed in this study has been able to control and monitor electrical equipment well. Keywords: Smart home, IoT, Smartphone, Blynk
