Abstract
At this time, the people of Yogyakarta are still using social media to buy and sell used goods, so, they are vulnerable to get fraud. This research aims to ease the selling and purchasing process in transaction. The subjects of this study were people who were living in Yogyakarta city. This marketplace information system applies a customer to customer (C2C) system. This customer to customer system was chosen because economically it can provide transaction satisfaction for buyers. Business processes in this system are described in the form of activity diagrams, something that illustrate the various flow of activities in the system that is being designed, how each flow starts, decisions that may occur, and how business processes or systems end. Creating this system uses Programming Hypertext preprocessor (PHP) and Hyper Text Markup Language (HTML) programming language and uses a MySQL database. In the result of the study, the author uses a questionnaire survey with Google form. There were 52 respondents found who had assessed the system. It is obtained 68% of respondents rated this application as easy to be learnt, 32% rated this application as difficult to be learnt. In terms of the needs of this application, 80% of respondents rated it as needed, while 20% rated it as inappropriate because they are still comfortable using social media.
