Abstract
Growth in the number of vehicles resulted in an increase in traffic density. Nowadays, with the growth of vehicles which is rapidly increasing, traffic conditions in Indonesia are getting more congested every day. The current traffic light control system still uses a system that works with the time setting of the duration of the red, yellow and green lights. This arrangement applies throughout the day, while the amount of traffic flow is not the same every time. So we need a system that can regulate the duration of the traffic lights that are in accordance with the traffic conditions that occur. Digital image processing technology can be applied to traffic light systems by detecting the density of vehicles or the number of vehicles from each road section. Detecting vehicle density or the number of vehicles using the Object Labeling method is a way to detect vehicle density or the number of vehicles by labeling each object and then counting it. Meanwhile, to produce the duration of the green light that will be given to each traffic light lane, the Fuzzy Tsukamoto method is used as a parameter that is based on vehicle density or the number of vehicles and lane width of each road segment. The results obtained are the amount of duration of the green lights on each of the traffic lights, and the duration of the green lights is determined based on the density of the vehicle or the number of vehicles and the width of the lane.
