Abstract
Mangosteen fruit plantation is one of the economic prospects that has a high enough value. Mangosteen has many benefits both the skin and the fruit, so many people use mangosteen as medicine and as a need for human fruit consumption. But there are some obstacles that are usually faced in the cultivation or planting the mangosteen fruit. Such as mangosteen fruit disease, that can influence growth, production, and also will affect in the failure of harvesting. In order to help the working performance of the mangosteen farmers, in the case of the expert farmers has not been existed yet, so it is needed a computer based system that can provide information about the diseases and its handling procedures. In this case, the system was developed using Forward Chaining method as a method in diagnosing mangosteen plant diseases. The purpose of this study is to help system users, especially mangosteen fruit farmers to know or identify diseases when mangosteen is affected by a disease and the suggestion to overcome it.
