Abstract

Rice plants can be attacked by various diseases. The disease can be known from the symptoms it causes, but to find out exactly the type of disease that attacks rice, it requires an agricultural expert. Unfortunately, the number of agricultural experts is limited and cannot overcome the problems of farmers at the same time, so we need a system that has the ability like an expert, which in this system contains knowledge of expertise of an agricultural expert on diseases and symptoms of rice plants. In this research a web-based knowledge-based system is designed using rule-based reasoning with a forward chaining inference method after which it is calculated with a certainty factor method intended to assist farmers in diagnosing rice plant diseases. Knowledge-based system of web-based rice disease diagnosis that has been developed has advantages in ease of access and ease of use. With its web-based features, the knowledge-based system for diagnosing rice diseases that have been built can be used as a tool for diagnosing rice diseases and can be accessed by farmers everywhere to overcome the problem of the limited number of agricultural experts in helping farmers diagnose rice diseases. . Keywords: Forward Chaining, Rule-Based Reasoning, Certainty Factor, Rice Plant
