Abstract
Chili (Capsium annum L.) is a vegetable commodity that gets a lot of attention because it has a high economic value. The need for chili is increasing every year in line with the development of an industry that requires chili raw materials. This plant is one of the most needed types of plants by everyone in Indonesia because the majority of Indonesia's population likes spicy food. In recent years many farmers have begun planting chilli as an alternative to farming. Almost every Indonesian citizen needs chili that is used to add spicy flavor to the cuisine. Big chili is one type of hybrid chili that is very attractive to farmers to be cultivated because it has high economic value. The plant is productive and has a wide market. The design of this system uses Forward Chaining and Certainty Factor methods to provide advice or considerations to farmers to determine the superior chili varieties. The Forward Chaining method functions as an inference engine based on facts that are then calculated using the Certainty Factor method. Keywords: Chili, Forward Chaining, Certainty Factor
