Abstract

The issue of digital economy has been rising and become one of the world’s most major concerns. The issue appears along with economic crisis and distrust towards bank. The issue is not only happen in developed countries, but also spreading to developing countries including Indonesia. Indonesia’s economic sector that relays on natural resources field must be shifted into technology and internet-based economy. As a result it is predicted that the financial technology sector will arise gradually in the future. The main objective of this study is to show the importance role of digital economy and highlight the necessity of financial technology as one of the pillars in Indonesian economy. As for what the method of data analysis, this study makes use qualitative descriptive method and the concept of digital economy.
