Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the bullying cases does to Arthur, the main character of the JOKER (2019) Film. The problems analyzed in this study are the bullying actions experienced by Arthur, how he faces the bullying and the impacts on him. The writer uses the Bullying Theory from Jessi Eden Brown and behavior changes theory that is The Study of Attitudes by Daniel Katz to help her learn the subject. The data were analyzed using qualitative research. The data are obtained by watching film, reading scripts repeatedly, and reading some references related to theory, film and collecting important data to answer problems in research. The analysis of this study found several results. The findings show that the bullying actions done to Arthur are done in the form of humiliation. People look down at him because of his job as a clown and see him as a werid person because of the conditions he has. Arthur suffers mentally and he changes from a good person to be a bad one. He becomes a murderer in the end of the film. The study finds that bullying is very cruel and can change the victim’s behaviours. Keyword: bullying, humiliation, look down, victim, murderer
