Abstract
ABSTRACT Library in SMP Negeri 2 Pracimantoro functions as one of the supporting facilities for studying in the school. Library management done optimally can create library suitable with its function and role. In registering library activity, it is still used ledger system that has not been integrated. It causes risk of losing the data and book. Moreover, lending and returning transaction become less effective and efficient. The objective of the research is to build a web based library management information system in optimizing the previous existing system by managing library management in SMP Negeri 2 Pracimantoro. Method used in the research for obtaining complete and accurate data is data collection using observation. The writer conducts research by involving directly into the library in SMP Negeri 2 Pracimantoro. In interview method, the writer discusses directly with interviewee to collect the data. Literary study is where the writer searches data in various books as guidance and theoretical foundation. In analysis stage, it was conducted by some analysis stages such as: analysing the current system to find out how the system works, document analysis to find related data, and human resources analysis to find user system. System design uses Entity Relational Database (ERD) description and Data Flow Diagram (DFD). While in the implementation stage of library research uses PHP programming language, and MySQL database. The result of conducted research is an analysis arrangement and library management information system to help improving library performance either in registering data, making report, or borrowing and returning books.
