Abstract
Simple Multi Attribute Rating Technique (SMART) method is a multi-criteria decision making method based on the theory that each alternative consists of a number of criteria that have a value and each criterion has a task to illustrate how important its value is compared to the other criteria. SMART method is more often used because of its simplicity in responding to the needs of decision makers and analyzing responses. The purpose of this research is to implement a decision support system for the selection of extracurricular SMA N 1 Mlati. It uses SMART method so that students are not confused in choosing extracurricular activities in accordance with their interests and talents. This method will reduce the number of students who are wrong to choose the appropriate extracurricular for them. SMART method has some advantages. Compared to the other methods, it is simple, transparent, and flexible in weighting and allows the addition or reduction of alternatives. This research is built with the PHP programming language and MySQL database. Based on the problems outlined earlier, some researchers have been interested in building systems using the PHP programming language and MySQL database to facilitate students in accessing the system. To evaluate alternatives, a single attribute utility is calculated so that the output produced is a decision support system in the form of ranking with the largest order of values.
