Abstract

Ketimbang Ngemis Yogyakarta (KNY) is one of the communities engaged in the social sector in the Special Region of Yogyakarta. The main work program of the KNY every month is to provide social assistance to poor families in the Special Region of Yogyakarta. There are several stages that are usually carried out by KNY before finally providing social assistance to those in need. KNY usually gets advice or reports from people through social media about families who are in need of assistance. The suggestions from social media are not necessarily valid, sometimes they manipulate information so that their neighbors or relatives get help from the KNY. Every month there will only be one family given the assistance. This requires KNY to conduct surveys one by one to conclude which families are more likely to receive assistance from all suggestions that come in. The activity is considered ineffective and inefficient because it requires a lot of time and energy from KNY. Therefore, the author make a decision support system using the Simple Additive Weighting method to help KNY determine which families need help. The data used comes from the Sleman Regency Social Service. Keywords: Social Assistance, Ketimbang Ngemis Yogyakarta, Simple Additive Weighting
