Abstract

ABSTRAK Perkembanganpembangunan di Indonesia berkembangsangatcepatdanpesathalinidikarenakansemakinbanyaknyapertumbuhanlajupenduduknya, makadariitupembangunangedungdanrumahtinggaljugamengalamiperkembangan yang pesat. Dalampembangunantersebutbiasanyamenggunakanstrukturbetonbertulang. Namunseiringkemajuanteknologiuntukmeningkatkanmutubetonsemakinbayakpenelitimelakukanpenelitian, denganmengggunakanbahantambah, salahsatubahantambah yang digunakandalampembuatanbetonantara lain resin polyester. Padapenelitianinipenelitimelakukaneksperimentalataumengembangkaninovasitentangbetondenganmenggunakanbahantambah resin polyester yang memilikikarakteristiksedikitkentaldanberwarnamerahsehinggadiharapkandapatmenambahkuattekanbeton. Tujuandilakukanpenelitianiniuntukmengetahuimutudankualitasbetonkhususnyauntukkuattekanbeton yang menggunakanbahantambahberupa resin polyester. Penelitianinidilakukandengancaramembuatbendaujiberupasilinder yang ditambahkandengan resin polyester sebesar 1%, 2% dan 3%. Jumlahbendauji yang dibuatsebanyak 3 silinderbeton normal, 3 silinderbetondenganpresentase resin 1%, 3 silinderbetondenganpresentase resin 2%, dan 3 silinderbetondenganpresentase resin 3%. Pembuatanbendaujiinidilakukan di LaboratoriumTeknologiBahanInstitutTeknologiNasional Yogyakarta. Sedangkanpengujian sample bendaujidilakukan di LaboratoriumUniversitasGadjahMada. Langkah yang dilakukandalampenelitianiniantara lain persiapanalatdanbahan, setelahitumelakukanperencanaanatau mix design yang mengacupada SNI 03-2834-2000. Kemudiandilakukanperawatanselama 28 haridandilakukanpengujian. Dari hasilpengujiankuattekanbetondidapatkannilai rata-rata sebesar 20,75Mpauntukbeton normal, 13,68 MPauntukbeton resin 1%, 14,15 MPauntukbeton resin 2%, dan 20,56 Mpauntukbeton resin 3%. Dari hasilpengujiantersebutdapatdisimpulkanbahwadengandilakukanyapenambahan resin polyester terhadapbeton normal mengalamipenurunanuntukhasilnilaikuattekanya. Kata kunci: kuattekan, resin polyester, beton ABSTRACT Development in Indonesia is developing very fast and rapidly, this is due to the growing number of population growth rates, then the construction of buildings and homes has also experienced rapid development. In the construction they usually use a reinforced concrete structure. But along with advancing technology to improve the quality of concrete, more and more researchers are conducting research, using added materials, and one of the added ingredients used in making concrete, including polyester resin. In this study, the researcher conducted experiments or developed innovations about concrete by using polyester resin added material which had the characteristics of a slightly thick and red color so it was hoped that it could increase the strength of the concrete. The purpose of this research is to know the quality of concrete, especially for compressive strength of concrete which uses material in the form of polyester resin. This research was conducted by making a cylindrical specimen added with polyester resin of 1%, 2% and 3%. The numbers of specimens made were 3 normal concrete cylinders, 3 concrete cylinders with 1% resin percentage, 3 concrete cylinders with 2% resin percentage, and 3 concrete cylinders with 3% resin percentage. The making of these test specimens was carried out at the Material Technology Laboratory of the Yogyakarta National Institute of Technology. While testing of sample specimens was carried out at the Gadjah Mada University Laboratory. The steps taken in this research include the preparation of equipment and materials, planning or mix design that refers to SNI 03-2834-2000, and then it is carried out for 28 days of maintenance and testing. From the results of the strength test the concrete was obtained an average value of 20.75 MPa for normal concrete, 13.68 MPa for 1% resin concrete, 14.15 MPa for 2% resin concrete, and 20.56 MPa for 3% resin concrete. From the results of these tests it can be concluded that the addition of polyester resin to normal concrete results in a decrease in the value of the compressive strength.
