Abstract

ABSTRAK Indonesia merupakan salah satu negara dengan jumlah penduduk terbanyak ke-4 didunia. Perkembangan pembangunan di Indonesia berbanding lurus dengan pertumbuhan laju penduduknya, sehingga perkembangan rumah tinggal dan infrastuktur sangat cepat dan pesat. Dalam pembangunan yang dilakukan biasanya struktur yang digunakan beton bertulang. Namun seiring kemajuan teknologi untuk meningkatkan mutu beton, semakin bayak peneliti melakukan penelitian mengggunakan bahan tambah, salah satu bahan tambah yang digunakan dalam pembuatan beton antara lain resin polyester. Pada penelitian ini, peneliti mengembangkan inovasi tentang beton dengan menggunakan resin polyester SHCP 2668 WNC yang memiliki karakteristik sedikit kental dan berwarna merah dan diharapkan dapat menambah kuat tekan beton. Tujuan dilakukan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui mutu dan kualitas beton khususnya untuk kuat tekan beton yang menggunakan bahan tambah berupa resin polyester. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan cara membuat benda uji berupa silinder yang ditambahkan dengan resin polyester sebesar 4%, 5% dan 6%. Jumlah benda uji yang dibuat sebanyak 3 silinder beton normal, 3 silinder beton dengan presentase resin 4%, 3 silinder beton dengan presentase resin 5%, dan 3 silinder beton dengan presentase resin 6%. Pembuatan benda uji ini dilakukan di Laboratorium Teknologi Bahan Institut Teknologi Nasional Yogyakarta. Sedangkan pengujian benda uji dilakukan di Laboratorium Universitas Gadjah Mada. Langkah yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini antara lain persiapan alat dan bahan, setelah itu melakukan perencanaan atau mix design yang mengacu pada SNI 03-2834-2000. Kemudian dilakukan perawatan selama 28 hari dan dilakukan pengujian. Dari hasil pengujian kuat tekan beton didapatkan nilai rata-rata sebesar 20,75 Mpa untuk beton normal, 22,467 MPa untuk beton resin 4%, 18,85 MPa untuk beton resin 5%, dan 17,52 Mpa untuk beton resin 6%. Dari hasil pengujian tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa dengan dilakukanya penambahan resin polyester terhadap beton normal mengalami penurunan untuk hasil nilai kuat tekanya. The development of building construction in Indonesia is directly proportional to the growth rate of its population, so that the development of houses and infrastructure is very fast and rapid. In the construction carried out usually used reinforced concrete structures. But as technology advances to improve the quality of concrete, more and more researchers are conducting research using added materials, one of the added materials used in making concrete is polyester resin. In this study, researchers developed a concrete innovation using SHCP 2668 WNC polyester resin which has the characteristics of slightly thick and red in color and is expected to increase the compressive strength of concrete. The purpose of this study was to determine the quality of concrete in particular for compressive strength of concrete using added material in the form of polyester resin. This research was conducted by making a cylindrical specimen added with polyester resin of 4%, 5% and 6%. The number of specimens made were 3 normal concrete cylinders, 3 concrete cylinders with 4% resin percentage, 3 concrete cylinders with 5% resin percentage, and 3 concrete cylinders with 6% resin percentage. The making of these test specimens was carried out at the Material Technology Laboratory of the Yogyakarta National Institute of Technology. While the test specimens were carried out at the Gadjah Mada University Laboratory. The steps taken in this study include the preparation of tools and materials, and planning or mix design that refers to SNI 03-2834-2000. Then the treatment is carried out for 28 days and tested. From the concrete compressive strength test results obtained an average value of 20.75 MPa for normal concrete, 22.467 MPa for 4% resin concrete, 18.85 MPa for 5% resin concrete, and 17.52 Mpa for 6% resin concrete. From the results of these tests it can be concluded that the addition of polyester resin to normal concrete causes a decrease to the results of the value of the compressive strength.
