Abstract

ABSTRAK Tanah lempung ekspansif merupakan jenis tanah yang banyak menimbulkan masalah pada bangunan teknik sipil, karena memiliki sifat kembang susut tinggi seiring perubahan kadar airnya. Perubahan kadar air pada tanah ekspansif ini menyebabkan daya dukung tanahnya menjadi buruk sehingga merusak konstruksi diatasnya. Salah satu cara yang dapat digunakan untuk memperbaiki tanah tersebut adalah dengan melakukan stabilisasi menggunakan Limbah Bangunan dan Difa Soil Stabilizer. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan Limbah bangunan dan Difa Soil Stabilizer terhadap sifat fisik dan sifat mekanis tanah lempung ekspansif di Desa Pergiwatu Wetan, Kecamatan Sentolo Kabupaten Kulon Progo. Metode penelitian dilakukan secara eksperimen di Laboratorium Mekanika Tanah Program Studi Teknik Sipil Universitas Teknologi Yogyakarta dengan jenis penelitian asosiatif kasual. Objek penelitian ini adalah pengujian sifat fisik tanah (pengujian kadar air tanah, berat jenis tanah, batas-batas Atterberg) dan pengujian sifat mekanis tanah (pengujian kepadatan tanah serta CBR soaked). Persentase variasi dalam penelitian adalah 12%,15%,16% Limbah Bangunan dan 3% Difa Soil Stabilizer. Hasil penelitian setelah penambahan menggunakan Limbah Bangunan dan Difa Soil Stabilizer diperoleh bahwa nilai berat jenis, batas plastis, batas susut, kepadatan kering maksimum (MDD) dan CBR mengalami kenaikan, sedangkan nilai kadar air, batas cair, indeks plastisitas, kadar air optimum (OMC) dan swelling mengalami penurunan. Hasil optimum diperoleh pada persentase 16% Limbah Bangunan ditambah 3% Difa Soil Stabilizer, dengan nilai CBR desain sebesar 75,30% dan nilai pengembangan (swelling) sebesar 0,025%. Abstract Expansive clay is a type of soil that causes problems in civil engineering buildings because it has high swelling and shrinkage properties as the water content changes. Changes in water content in expansive soil causes the bearing capacity of the soil to become poor. This damages the construction above it. One way that can be used to improve the soil is by stabilizing it using Building Waste and Difa Soil Stabilizer. The research objective was to determine the effect of the addition of building waste and Difa Soil Stabilizer on the physical and mechanical properties of expansive clay in the village of Pulangwatu Wetan, Sentolo District, Kulon Progo Regency. The research method was carried out experimentally at the Laboratory of Soil Mechanics, Civil Engineering Study Program, Yogyakarta Technology University, with a casual associative type of research. The object of this research was testing the physical properties of the soil (testing the soil moisture content, soil density, Atterberg boundaries) and testing the mechanical properties of the soil (testing soil density and soaked CBR). The percentage variations in the study were 12%, 15%, 16% building waste and 3% Difa Soil Stabilizer. The results of the research after addition using Building Waste and Difa Soil Stabilizer showed that the values for specific gravity, plastic limit, shrinkage limit, maximum dry density (MDD) and CBR increased, while the value of water content, liquid limit, plasticity index, optimum water content (OMC) ) and swelling has decreased. The optimum results were obtained at a percentage of 16% building waste plus 3% Difa Soil Stabilizer, with a design CBR value of 75.30% and a swelling value of 0.025%.
