Abstract
Geographical Information System (GIS) is an information system used to store and process geographically referenced data. Islamic boarding schools as one of the educational and da'wah institutions as well as social institutions that balance religion and general science. One of the problems that is often faced by the community is the lack of information about the location of the Islamic boarding schools and not all Islamic boarding schools are known by the community because they do not have an official website, making it difficult for people who need information about Islamic boarding schools in Sleman Regency. This study aims to create a system that can help the general public and parents of prospective students to obtain information about the profile and location of Islamic boarding schools in Sleman district. It is hoped that this system can make it easier for people to find information about Islamic boarding schools. The research method used is the waterfall method. This geographic system design consists of data flow diagrams, entity relationship diagrams and interface designs. This geographic information system was built using a web-based programming language, namely PHP and MySQL as a database server and using the Google Maps API as a mapping medium. The result of this research is a web-based system that can map geographically in Islamic boarding schools in Sleman Regency and provide detailed and up to date information to the community. In addition, this system also classifies the Islamic boarding schools based on the number of students and the type of boarding schools.
