Abstract

This study analyzed the irony in Johnny English Strikes Again (2018) the movie. There are two problems in this study: (1) the irony presented in the movie and (2) the significances of the irony. This study used the objective theory, the concept of irony, and the descriptive analysis which focuses on the irony presented in the movie. The result of the research shows that ironies found in Johnny English Strikes Again (2018) are verbal irony, structural irony, and dramatic irony. Every irony that is presented has significances and there are many lessons to learn Keywords: dramatic irony, structural irony, verbal irony
