Abstract
This final paper discussed three problems. The first was the types of slavery experienced by the main character, namely Solomon Northup, the main focus that were analyzed in this final paper. The second was the impact occured to the main character while being slaved and the third was the efforts made by the main character to get his freedom from the slavery. The writer used M.H. Abram’s theory objective theory to assist this study. The methods to analyze were quantitative research methods. The data were collected by watching the film itself, taking notes of important points, reading the script, and searching some references related to this subject. The results show that Solomon experiences three types of slavery, Human trafficking, forced labour and contract slavery exert great impact on Solomon’s mental; and to get free from slavery, Solomon writes letters to his family Keywords: Slavery, Freedom, Human rights
