Abstract
Malioboro is one of the most visited tourist destinations in Indonesia, both by domestic and foreign tourists. This place is basically just a market district where a lot of business is going on. The reason why Malioboro is such a special place compared to other market areas available throughout the country is because it can be found in many things, from historical places, cultural behavior, active government buildings, entertainment museums, local food, markets, and many again. The reason I call Malioboro "The Heart Of Yogyakarta" is because when we go to other places in Yogyakarta we will only encounter one or two things that happen in that place. Meanwhile, in Malioboro, it is like a 'complete package' of activities that we can do, from day to night non-stop. Besides that, geographically Malioboro is located right in the middle of Yogyakarta city if you try to check on the map. That's why this place is called the Heart of Yogyakarta. Malioboro is also known as a place that has it all. The Sultan works in the governor's building which is located right in the middle of Malioboro, the kraton is located near the regency area and there are several local events that are sometimes held in Malioboro and the area itself has not changed since Malioboro began. Maliobora was used by the Dutch army to build some of their government buildings at that time, but of course, some of the buildings have changed over time or been renovated but not much has changed or even some new buildings have been built over time as well. But still the old or original buildings are still standing today, even they still have the exact same structure since the first time because the government tries to keep the original because of historical needs. When visiting Malioboro, we can shop for various kinds of commodities, enjoy various types of art, and get views and knowledge of history. Thus, visiting Malioboro means allocating time to explore.
