Abstract
ABSTRACT The purpose of this thesis is to design and build a website-based geographic information system in the Special Region of Yogyakarta. With this system, it is hoped that it can help the public in finding information on tourism objects in the Special Region of Yogyakarta. Many sites on the internet provide information about tourism objects in the Special Region of Yogyakarta, but the information provided is still incomplete and inaccurate. So that not a few people are still confused in planning a vacation to a tourist attraction. Therefore, through the design and manufacture of a Geographical Information System for this tourism object, it is hoped that it can help the community in choosing the right and appropriate tourism objects. Presentation of information in web form will make it easier for people to access it. In designing and making this system, the author uses the PHP programming language: Hypertext Preprocessor (PHP), while the database used is MySQL. The system development methodology used is Waterfall. The Waterfall methodology has several stages, namely Planning, Analysis, Design, Implementation and Maintenance.
