Abstract
ABSTRACT In the daily examination process at SMP Negeri 1 Malinau Selatan, there are weaknesses in processing student examinations and grades. It is often found that the existing value data is a problem for teachers and students in schools because the processing of exams and grades has not been computerized, the processing of scores is carried out by calculating the amount of data on the average score of students using a calculator and written in a class list book. In addition, this manual system still has several weaknesses, including it takes a long time for the assessment process, there are frequent errors in the summation results and frequent data loss. The purpose of this study is to build an online examination system at SMP Negeri 1 Malinau Selatan which will be used as a tool for the ongoing system where the data is used as a measuring tool for the progress of student achievement. This system uses system design tools such as level diagrams, context diagrams, data flow diagrams, entity relationship diagrams (ERD) and relationship tables. PHP in this program is used as a programming language and MYSQL as a database. The purpose of this research is to produce a system that makes it easier for schools to improve performance in the examination process and recap values that help the school in realizing its vision of making SMP Negeri 1 Malinau Selatan a quality school.
