Abstract
ABSTRACT Diseases of the teeth and mouth in humans rank 1 of the 10 diseases most frequently complained of by Indonesians. The high cost of consultation and examination of dental and oral diseases is one reason people are reluctant to go to a doctor, especially for the middle-lower class. To reduce the number of people with oral and dental diseases, early diagnosis is one solution. Through this research, an expert system was implemented to diagnose oral and dental diseases. An expert system is a system that manages knowledge from an expert which is stored into the system to solve problems, answer questions and make decisions. This research uses Forward Chaining and Certainty Factor methods. The process of determining the diagnosis in this expert system begins with a consultation session where the system will ask some relevant questions according to the symptoms experienced by the user. Then the diagnostic results provide diagnostic results by showing the level of system confidence in the symptoms of the disease and treatment advice that will be given. In the application of this disease diagnosis expert system using Javascript and as a programming language, JSON (Java Script Objection Notation), React Native as a framework, Visual Studio Code and Expo and Android Studio as a support.
