Abstract
ABSTRACT Jayapura City is the highest populated city in Papua Province with a total of 278 people per square kilometer. However, the state of education in Jayapura is classified as low in terms of education personnel and education financing. The lack of information about free education services in Jayapura City has made many people in Jayapura City not aware of these services. There is information that is not known, such as information in the form of many free education services available, where the location of each service is, how are the activities of free education services and so on. Besides that, the media provided as a source of information are currently still made only using their respective social media. For this reason, it is necessary to design a geographic information system that will make it easier for people to find information on free education services. The geographic information system design method used is the Waterfall Method, where there are 5 stages contained in the Waterfall Method, namely, Needs Analysis, Design, Implementation, Testing. Collecting data in this study is collecting data information such as complete addresses, location photos, latitude and longitude as well as an explanation of the free school. The attributes include the number of children, age range, majority of religion, and number of teaching staff. The results of designing a geographic information system using Google Maps which can be accessed using a browser on a computer or on a mobile device, where each location of free education services / schools can be displayed at once and can display the user's current location.
