Abstract

ABSTRACT Tomatoes are one of the most common vegetables in Indonesia. Tomato is a plant that is susceptible to disease. Almost all the tomatoes that exist today do not have strong resistance when they are attacked by disease. To overcome tomato plant diseases, an expert system application was built using forward changing and certainty factory methods. The expert system is one of the potential solutions to solve the problem of diagnosing diseases in tomatoes. With an expert system, it can simplify work or even replace experts, combine knowledge and experience from several experts, and provide the expertise needed for a project that does not have experts with consulting media. The results of consultation tests with this system show that the system is able to determine the disease along with the initial treatment and treatment that must be carried out based on the symptoms previously selected by the user.
