Abstract
ABSTRACT The Smart Galileo Tutoring Institute is an educational institution where the process of working on exam questions is still manual, sometimes it can cause several problems in implementation, such as a shortage of exam questions or answer papers, teachers in making examination corrections are still manual so that teachers have to assess the answers one by one from each student. In this research, the design of the website-based online exam system has the objective of being able to help the exam process and be able to find out the final results of the exams that have been carried out by students. The type of research carried out in this study uses the waterfall model which has stages, namely the first stage of analysis system, design system, coding, testing, and maintenance. This research produces a product in the form of a web-based online exam with the CodeIgniter Framework and uses the PHP language. With this system, the examination process becomes easier because it can be accessed anywhere via the internet network, it can help in the process of correcting answers so that it can shorten the time faster than before. The results of the test obtained from the Likert scale calculation showed that the final value of question number 1 was 83.33%. This result was categorized as good, meaning that the system was easy to use and informative. The results of the test obtained from the Likert scale calculation obtained the final average value of each user. The percentage questionnaire from student users obtained an average value of 87.74%, which means that the system can be used well in operation, while the questionnaire on the percentage of users in the teacher obtained an average value of 84.998%, which means the system can be used well in operations.
