Abstract

ABSTRACT Indonesia is a country located in the tropics and has a varied topography. This position makes Indonesia very vulnerable to natural disasters, one of which is landslides. Landslide natural disasters are caused by disturbances in the stability of the soil making up the slopes and have adverse impacts such as loss of life, environmental damage, loss of property, and disrupting the stability of the community's economy. Considering the impact, it is necessary to have an early warning system for landslides that can be used to monitor the symptoms of landslides and reduce the impact. This study was designed to use the MPU6050 sensor to measure ground acceleration. The MPU-6050 sensor contains Microelectromechanical Systems (MEMS) for accelerometer and gyro in one super small chip. The sensor capability is very accurate, because it contains special hardware for 16-bit wide analog-to-digital conversion for each channel. ESP8266 microcontroller as the acquisition and processing of the resulting data. The designed system is equipped with a SIM900A communication module. This landslide early warning system can be set to a threshold value so that it can be placed according to the characteristics of landslide-prone areas. The analysis of the system used is based on the ground shift method detected by the MPU-6050 sensor. The test results show that the system is able to provide accurate data and disaster preparedness information via SMS and the Telegram application, where there are several features in the Telegram application, namely the Telegram channel that can be added to channel members via channel IDs of more than 3000 members to receive information when there is status information. disaster preparedness and Google Maps to find out the position of the landslide and the distance between Telegram channel members and the position of the tool that is used to determine the safe position or not, then the buzzer as a siren simulation.
