Abstract

ABSTRACT Library is one of the places that is really needed by the community in increasing academic knowledge, getting information and being a vehicle for learning for students and the community. Visitors who come to the library certainly need a comfortable and calm atmosphere so that they can focus and concentrate while reading books or doing activities in the library. However, not all visitors understand the rules that apply in the library. There are visitors who only come to chat, thus disturbing the concentration of other visitors who are reading. This of course, if left unchecked, will cause a decrease in public interest in visiting the library. We need a system that can reduce the noise that occurs in the library. The purpose of this research is to design a tool that can be used as a sound detector in the library and can be used to admonish noisy library visitors. By using the system design method, namely prototyping. This design uses a simulation tool, where when the sound sensor reads or detects the sound data received exceeds the specified limit, the tool will automatically issue a warning in the form of a display on the LCD and a warning sound through the speaker. The test results produce a noise detection automation tool based on sound pressure or sound pressure parameters. From ten times the results of the sensor testing between the noise sensor on the artificial device and the Sound Level Meter that have been carried out, the result of the percentage error obtained is an average value of 12.1%.
