ABSTRACT The process of landing an unmanned aircraft is a complex matter because it requires quite a lot of control from the aircraft in addition to obstacles such as the pilot not being proficient at flying the plane, the sudden magnitude of the wind speed, hitting the side of the building or tree, running out of power while flying high in the air, motor failure, and the worst possible condition is a fly away. This causes substantial material losses and a safety device is needed that can minimize damage to the aircraft when it falls. The safety device is in the form of a parachute that will open automatically when a sensor detects an object's angular momentum and an unbalanced aircraft altitude. This research will design an unmanned aircraft and a parachute open system by going through several conditions. The result of this research is a prototype of an unmanned aircraft by applying an auto parachute system with three modes to open the parachute including manual, automatic and gyroscope modes. The system uses two microcontrollers in the form of a pix hawk as an autopilot and an ATmega 328 as a parachute system. The sensors used are GPS to determine the coordinates and the MPU6050 sensor to predict crashes on the plane. The parachute system can be controlled manually by the pilot, is able to work automatically via autopilot and is able to work based on the gyroscope value that has been determined. The drone managed to make a perfect landing (working 100%) in each condition or mode. Keywords: Atmega328, GPS, MPU6050, Parachute, Pixhawk, UAV.
